Thompson is listed in the 1903 city directory as "capitalist" at the Merchants National Bank Building. The house was constructed for an estimated cost of $35,000 and designed by H. I. Wicks of the architectural firm Green and Wicks of Buffalo, New York. It is only one of a handful of houses on Summit designed by out of state architects.

Comment: This house always reminded me of a huge mausoleum. Scary and very stark. Cold.
