South Summit Avenue: Lawton to Heather

Dr. Cornelius Williams House

Dr. Cornelius Williams House

500 Summit Avenue
Built: 1904
Style: Geogian Revival

The house was built for an estimated $8,000. According to Sandeen's book, "St. Paul's Historic Summit Avenue," the house is situated sideways on the lot because it was designed originally for a lot in downtown St. Paul, and when Williams decided to build on Summit Avenue instead, he turned the house sideways rather than having architect Thomas Holyoke redesign it to better fit the lot.

Comment: (12.75.167.152) I feel this home is maintained as best as it could be, the owners have done a noce job

Comment: New owners moved in to this house in the summer of 2006. They have done a great deal of deferred maintenance, yard work, remodeling, etc.

Current rating: 0.50 : Good
