Auerbach House

Auerbach House

400 Summit Avenue
Built: 1882
Style: Altered - Victorian
This once ornate Victorian mansion was originally owned by Maurice and Matilda (Rice) Auerbach. Maurice Auerbach was a member of Auerbach, Finch, and Van Slyke (whose headquarters building still stands in St. Paul's Lowertown district). Matilda Auerbach was the daugther of early St. Paul politician Henry M. Rice. Later owner of this home was Lucius P. Ordway (1923-1963) who built the St. Paul Hotel.
