Style: Beaux Arts / Tudor Revival
The first house on this lot was constructed in 1886 for Samuel M. Magoffin, a lawyer. The house was razed in 1914 and the present house was built for an estimated cost of $40,000. Watson Davidson was the president of Davidson Company, a real estate firm. In 1961 the house became the location for the School of Associated Arts, now called the College of Visual Arts.

Comment: The residence that used to stand here was amazing. Check out "St. Paul's Historic Summit Avenue" (MHS Press) for a picture of the former home.

Comment: shame its being used and abused by a silly liberal arts school. it should be sold and revived to its glory
