The first house on this lot was built in 1882 for Dr. Alexander Stone, a local physician. About 1903 the house was moved to Farrington St. where it is still standing. The present house was constructed in 1905 for George W. Gardner, a real estate and insurance dealer. The house was built for an estimated $28,000. The house is now owned by the Volksfest Association and is used as a club house for German-Americans.
