When John R. Irvine platted the area not far from downtown St. Paul in 1849 he donated land for the neighborhood's park.
 


Comment: (216.160.20.242) when i grew up in irvine park, there was no fountain. the hill was great in the winter for sliding, and in the summer for riding our bikes down the hill. We used to roller skate around the park all us "Park Girls"

Comment: This looks alot different now then when I grew up at Irvine park. I lived at the very last house at the dead end street on the left. The park was not as beautiful. We did have tons of fund at the park. I lived there from 1960-1967.
