Thanks for visiting the St. Paul PhotoTour site. This site was launched 6/1/01 as a personal project. Time being what it is, unfortunately I have not had many occasions to work on the site as I have wanted and many of the photos still are without captions. However, I appreciate (and encourage) users to leave there own personal histories about the places and buildings in the photos as well as those wonderful people who have actually taken the time to research and post descriptions and general histories of building and places in the comments section of each photo. Thanks!

Please email me at toaster (at) myotus (dot) com with any questions or comments.

There are some nifty new features to this site including the ability to leave comments about pictures, a search engine and the ability rate a photo. So enjoy...

The site has shortcuts to almost all the pages so instead of "http://www.geomyidae.com/index.php?TopicID=px_summitavenue" you can use "http://www.geomyidae.com/summitavenue" (without the quotes). This is to make it easier to remember addresses and for teachers with classes to type in.

...and some of you have noticed, my spelling is not so good. Being a designer, my right side of the brain usually wins out over my left most the time and BBEdit has a rotten spell checker. Sorry, I try!

Geomyidae is moving!

After seven years, Geomyidae is finding a new home at Placeography.org. I now work for the Minnesota Historical Society as a web designer/developer. As part of my job I am helping to create a house history wiki. So not only will all the data and photos from here be moved over, as a wiki, anyone that registers will be able to contribute as well. Enjoy!

Help move this site over

All the photos have been added but the text needs to be hand entered. Besides, we are looking for volunteers to help develop placeography.

I will be keeping site site up for at least through 2008. After then who knows....?
